Mastodon

I haven't been able to stop listening to Mastodon since discovering them a few days ago. They remind me of Voivod at their peak, plus the more experimental aspects of Rush and Metallica, all mixed up with a huge grinning helping of psychadelic.

Mastodon's music is not simple or 'easy' to listen to, due to all the odd-timed rhythms and harmonies meandering in all *sorts* of strange directions - and that's precisely what I love about their music, which is technical, virtuoso and waaay trippy ;)

Mastodon have a new album due for release on the 24th of June 2014 entitled, 'Once more around the Sun'. Certainly worth looking out for. 'Dry Bone Valley' is from their previous album, 'The Hunter'.
