"Heart," by Kid Karate

One of the greatest experiences a music fan can have is when you catch a killer warmup band you knew nothing about. I had that experience Thursday night when I went to a show headlined by Breton, a London four-piece, here in Boston. Breton were disappointing—as a live act they just couldn’t match the lush production of their newest album—but their warmup band made the evening more than worthwhile. I speak of Kid Karate, a two-piece out of Dublin, fronted by one of the most talented and purely charismatic young frontmen I’ve ever seen. His name is Kevin Breen. Remember the name. (By the way, they have one EP, which came out last summer. Their first full-length album is coming out in July.)
