Dutch Dolphins
I'm posting this message on behalf of MzDeeDee Dagger:
"Wherever you are - it's time to relax....
Some time ago, during an event, we set up a Dutch coffeehouse called 'The Dutch Dolphin'. Now the crop is ready and it's time to harvest.
When I returned to SL for the long summer break, I found that there was music action missing in my timezone, as well as a place to just hang. It's been entertaining to get together with some friends and build a hangout. We managed to find a beautiful spot on Catalina Cove, have some neat artwork by JP ready and are all set for some relaxation."

The Vaccines
The Vaccines' great new coming of age song:
And I, I don’t really care about
Anybody else when I haven’t got my whole life figured out
Cause when you’re 24 and young and bored
And you don’t know who you are
Nobody’s
No hope
And it’s hard to come of age
I think it’s a problem
And it never goes my way
And no, I am so self-obsessed
I guess, but there’s no hope
But I hope it’s just a phase
Or I’ll grow
And I, I don’t really care about
Anybody else when I haven’t got my whole life figured out
Cause when you’re 24 and young and bored
And you don’t know who you are
Nobody’s
No hope
And it’s hard to come of age
I think it’s a problem
And it never goes my way
And no, I am so self-obsessed
I guess, but there’s no hope
But I hope it’s just a phase
Or I’ll grow

Julian Plenti Lives
There's something happening in these lyrics, not only because the song was released just before the Northern hemisphere went into summer. I feel that we as a race could use some good news - and for me, this song is about that holiday that we all need - whether we're on it, or it's just ahead. And that's some powerful voodoo.
Summer time is coming, so get out
Forget all those things that do with doubts
Swallow all the animals that conceal
Us in our whole lives like this
Summertime is coming, so get out
So get out
Get out
Summertime is calling for you child (yeah, yeah)
To give you a sense of reliance to feel at
Home in a crowd (yeah, yeah)
The season the season is calling calling
And all of it breathes into one day
The song ends with some perspective:
Can we waste some more time just colliding in space?
No matter how high we set the bar
No matter how high we set the bar
We will.
A full-length album is announced to be released in fall 2012.

Hammer No More the Fingers
From their very first release, Hammer No More the Fingers revealed themselves as a band determined to write songs that were as interesting musically as they were catchy. The band falls into a rare category where musicians appreciate their skills and ability to craft pieces of music that go beyond typical conventions, all while carefully piecing together hooks that won't leave your head for days. Their new EP, Pink Worm, shows a band that has perfected this balance. It's a short record, but the songs stay with you. In fact, if you don't find yourself humming a HNMtF tune after listening to their new release, question your own musical cognizance.
Yellow Ostrich
My favourite song (and band!) of the moment :)

Daughter
Daughter is Elena Tonra. I know... so very little about her, except that she's brilliant and her music is gorgeous.

The Stills
DJ Dox recently played a set of Canadian songs at the Velvet, and the song that stuck out for me was this one by the Stills:
